Ben Stokes and MS Dhoni reunion in CSK
It’s a re-union of the star all-rounder and current skipper of England test team and the CSK Captain, as Ben Stokes has been sold to CSK for a whopping sum of INR 16.25 on Friday.
Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore made the first few bids for the star all-around player. Later teams in the race included Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giant. In the competition to secure Stokes’ services for the record sum, CSK defeated LSG.
In 2017, Stokes made his first appearance in the IPL auction. He ended up being the most expensive selection, and Pune Supergiants paid Rs 14.50 crore to sign him. He was acquired by Rajasthan Royals the following year for a sum of Rs 12.50 crore. In 43 IPL games, he has 920 runs and 28 wickets.
He and MS Dhoni were part of Pune Supergiants in 2017 edition of the Indian Premier League, and now Ben Stokes will once again play alongside MS Dhoni.
Apart from that, Ajinkya Rahane, who was also part of Pune Super Giants, has been sold to CSK for 50 Lacs.
