Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) secretary Timir Chanda to fire a salvo; has been put on hold by the court.

Timir Chanda, the secretary of the Tripura Cricket Organisation (TCA), has decided to fire a salvo in the ongoing conflict between him and the association. According to sources, Chanda sent TCA president Manik Sarkar a letter requesting that he drop the plan of holding a special general meeting on Friday.

Sarkar, it was learned, summoned the meeting through WhatsApp message to discuss Chanda’s expulsion from the organization, for which the Agartala civil court had given a stay order.

Any further discussion of the topic, according to Chanda, will be unlawful and in violation of the court’s injunction. At the same time, the former Tripura Ranji Trophy player said that Sarkar has no right to hold office in the TCA because no public worker is qualified for a position under the TCA’s regulations.

On January 18 of this year, the state’s top court ordered in the favor of Chanda to remain in office until the lower court’s case in this matter was resolved. That matter has yet to be settled in that location. This was not the first time the TCA Apex Council attempted to remove the state’s former Ranji Trophy player from his position. Chanda has been fired from his position on March 13, 2021.

The former all-rounder subsequently appealed the association’s judgment to the Western extra district judge court No. 2. On October 4, 2021, the court found in Chanda’s favor. TCA authorities, however, have refused to accept Chanda back and petitioned the high court for a stay order.

Timir Chanda is a former cricketer from India. From 1995 to 2013, he was an opening bowler for Tripura in first-class and List A cricket. He got 4 for 35 and 7 for 116 in Tripura’s seven-wicket win against Goa in Porvorim in 2010-11. In 2011-12, he had his best bowling performance of 8 for 133 against Himachal Pradesh, despite Himachal Pradesh winning by an innings. In a drew encounter against Goa in 2002-03, he struck 134, his lone century.
So far Timir has played 7 T20 matches. His highest score was 17 with an average rate of 5.4 with a strike rate of 75.
