I Am Sure Selectors Find Me A Deserving Candidate For T20 WC: Tahir

South Africa’s star spinner, Imran Tahir has voiced his desire to compete in the T20 World Cup. He has proclaimed himself fit and strong to compete in the ICC competition. Tahir, who is presently participating for the Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League, discussed the tournament’s intensity as well as his team’s efficiency. Tahir, who was born in Lahore, chose to move to the ‘Rainbow Nation’ after failing to make the Pakistan cricket selection. ”I am still available for selection in T20Is. I believe I am fit enough to play in the T20 World Cup. I hope that selectors will consider my performances around the world. If they do, I am sure they’ll find me a deserving candidate”, said Tahir in an Interaction.

Along with all-rounder JP Duminy, he decided to quit international cricket following the completion of the World Cup 2019, in which South Africa had a dismal contest. However, the spinner has mentioned that he still has enough firepower to represent South Africa in this year’s ICC T20 World Cup, which is set to take place in Australia.

Furthermore, the Lahore spinner thanked South Africa for providing him with the chance to achieve at the top level and help him accomplish his aspirations.

“It is a strange feeling that I am an overseas player for Pakistan where I was born and even played my initial cricket, but I am also thankful to South Africa that they gave me a chance to reach my dreams and prove myself in international cricket”, he said.

Tahir was a crucial element of World Giants in the just ended Legends League Cricket 2022, where he produced a match-winning half-century versus India Maharajas. He is presently competing in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022, where he won the Player of the Match honor for his 3-wicket haul in Multan Sultan‘s tournament-opening match versus Karachi Kings.
