T20 WC: MS Dhoni Back With The Team Feels Amazing- KL Rahul

India batsman KL Rahul was glad when MS Dhoni returned to the national team after a 2-year absence. Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket in August 2020, following his participation in the 2019 World Cup. The 40-year-old has now been named Team India’s coach for the 2021  T20 World Cup in Oman and the UAE.

Rahul, who hit a half-century versus England in a warm-up game on Monday, claimed Dhoni’s involvement in the dressing room creates a “sense of calm.” Rahul further stated that the senior from Jharkhand has just not run out of options and is one of the fittest.

Rahul, who previously played for the Punjab Kings in the IPL, voiced his thoughts on Dhoni during a Clubhouse gathering celebrating 10 years of Red Bull Campus Cricket.

Dhoni can give any of us stiff competition: KL Rahul

Obviously, MS Dhoni (being) back with the team feels amazing because we have played under him and we have looked towards him as a mentor even when he was our captain,” Rahul said in an Interaction.

We loved having him in the dressing room when he was the captain. We loved the calmness. We have all looked up to him to help us out. This gives us a sense of calmness; I have enjoyed spending time with him in the first two to three days. Looking forward to chewing his brain about cricket, captaincy, and all things cricket,” he stated.

I think Dhoni can give any of us stiff competition, he definitely is a guy who can hit the ball farthest, he is very strong and he is good (while running) between the wickets. He looks the fittest, it is good fun to have him,” Rahul added.

Dhoni recently appeared for the four-time titleholder Chennai Super Kings in the 2021 IPL. He stated then that he has an option to play the 2022 season as well. Furthermore, it has been revealed that the CSK are expecting for the BCCI to clarify the retention criteria before making a decision. Former BCCI chief N Srinivasan also praised Dhoni.
