Pakistan are on the brink of clinching the 2nd Test against Zimbabwe which is currently being played at the Harare Sports Complex. Day 4 of the 5-match Test series will start at 1 PM IST. Pakistan made a total of 510 runs in the first innings. Zimbabwe got all out for just 132 runs and were handed follow on by Pakistan. Zimbabwe are 220 for 9 in the follow on and looks like the match will end as soon as the 4th day starts. “Such mismatch series should not take place” – RamizRaja On Pakistan vs Zimbabwe Series
“Audience will switch to watching football or other sports”- Ramiz Raja On Pakistan vs Zimbabwe Series
The series was quite one-sided as Pakistan bullied Zimbabwe in all the departments. Zimbabwe looked clueless as Pakistan continued their domination throughout the two-match series. Former Pakistani batsman and cricket commentator Ramiz Raja stated that this kind of series should not take place.
Raja added that Zimbabwe learned nothing from the better side. He also said that fans of Test cricket will switch to different sports if ICC continues to allow such mismatch and one-sided series.
“Some people are of the opinion that when a weak team plays a strong one, you need to focus on what you learn from it rather than the outcome of the match. You learn from the stronger team’s process and the way it adapts to the changing situation of a game. But I don’t think Zimbabwe learned anything from this series because they were continuously dominated by Pakistan. Also, there was no difference in their performance in the second Test as compared to the first one.
“Such mismatch series should not take place. Test cricket is already under pressure and very few people watch it. If you show them such one-sided matches, then they will switch to watching football or other sports. Three-day Test match is a joke,” Raja said on his YouTube channel.
