Sting Operation outbreak as BCCI Chief Selector Chetan Sharma claims “There is no battle between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma but there is ego.”

Chetan Sharma Sting Operation

Chetan Sharma Game Over

Who was lying? Virat Kohli or Sourav Ganguly

Chetan Sharma, the head selector for the BCCI, was the subject of controversy on Tuesday morning after it was claimed that he divulged sensitive selection information during a sting operation by the ZEE television station. Sharma claimed that despite being between 80% and 85% healthy, several players use injections to fasten their return to competitive cricket.

Additionally, Sharma claimed that Sourav Ganguly, the former BCCI president, and former captain Kohli got into an argument about egos. Due to this shocking revelation, the National selectors are reportedly under investigation by the BCCI and since their contracts forbid them from speaking to the media they are no official statements from them as of now.

Here are some of the Shocking Information that came out from Chetan Sharma Sting Operation;

  • Fake Injection

“The players are not fit but they take injections to play. They are ready to play even at 80% fitness. They take injections and start playing.” Also while talking about pain killer he said “No! I am talking about injections. If they take pain-killer then it will come in dopping. Team India players are aware about which injections come in anti-doping.”

  • EGO clash Between former skipper Virat Kohli & Sourav Ganguly

“During a video conference, Sourav Ganguly commented, in a meeting where there were all people present, including all the selectors, presidents of the board, and myself. It is unclear whether or not Virat heard what Ganguly said, but either way, it is a personal matter between him and Ganguly. It is unclear why Virat brought up the topic during a press conference before going to South Africa as captain. The topic was not relevant to the team’s discussion, and it is unclear why Virat chose to bring it up.”

He further added saying “The truth is that there was a conversation happening between six to nine people, during which Ganguly made a comment that conflicted with what Virat was saying. It appears that there was a dispute between the board and the player, but it is a personal matter that remains unresolved.” (Source- ZEE News)

  • Why did Virat Kohli Lose his Captaincy?

The Cheif selector of BCCI, Chetan Sharma, further clarified the background of Virat Kohli’s captaincy: “Virat Kohli thought the BCCI President was to blame for his loss of the captaincy. There were nine persons in the video conference for the selection committee, and Ganguly may have instructed him to “think about it once.” There were nine people there, including myself, all the other selectors, and BCCI officials, so Kohli might not have heard him, in my opinion.

“Ganguly did not favour Rohit but he never liked Virat. You can put it in this way,” said Chetan Sharma.

He then revealed Virat Kohli’s reaction, saying “The press conference ahead of the IND vs SA series where Virat Kohli revealed that he was told 1.30 hours before the declaration that he will be leaving the captaincy was unnecessary. He just wanted to get back at Sourav that’s why he did it.”

  • Rohit & Virat Fued

Sharma claims that Indian athletes, like Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya, have a great deal of faith in him and have even visited his home. According to reports, Pandya visits more regularly than the others.

According to Sharma, there are two camps. The captains of each side are Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, respectively. In his words translated in english, he states “There is no battle between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma but there is ego. Both are like big film stars you can say, Amitabh Bachan and Dharmendra.” (Source- ZEE News)

  • How he shaped the Indian Cricket

“I brought in the likes of Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Deepak Hooda, Shubman Gill and other 15-20 players in the team,” said Chetan Sharma. He then continued by saying “In the T20I format, strong starters like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are given “rest” to give Shubman Gill an opportunity. He stated that Hardik Pandya would take over as captain in the long run and that Rohit Sharma would no longer be a part of the T20I setup.”

  • Who trusts Chetan Sharma more in the Dressing Room

Sharma claims that Indian athletes, like Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya, have a great deal of faith in him and have even visited his home multiple times. According to him, Pandya visits more regularly than the others.
