Sri Lanka name 24-man squad for ODIs and T20Is against England

Sri Lanka cricket board name 24-man squad for ODIs and T20Is against England. Sri Lanka has finally announced the 24-man squad for their upcoming series with England. This squad includes some experienced players like Avishka Fernando, Nuwan Pradeep, Oshada Fernando, and Kasun Rajitha. Interestingly board has also picked few uncapped players like Dhananjaya Lakshan, Ishan Jayaratne, Charith Asalanka, and Shiran Fernando.

Sri Lanka is scheduled to play 3 T20Is and 3 ODI games later this month in England. And Kusal Perera has been announced as the skipper for both formats.

 

Sri Lanka’s squad for ODIs and T20Is vs England:

Kusal Perera (c), Kusal Mendis, Danushka Gunathilaka, Pathum Nissanka, Avishka Fernando, Oshada Fernando, Akila Dananjaya, Dushmantha Chameera, Isuru Udana, Binura Fernando, Nuwan Pradeep, Shiran Fernando, Kasun Rajitha, Dhananjaya de Silva, Charith Asalanka, Dasun Shanaka, Niroshan Dickwella, Chamika Karunaratne, Dhananjaya Lakshan, Wanindu Hasaranga, Ramesh Mendis, Lakshan Sandakan, Asitha Fernando and Ishan Jayaratne.

Sri Lanka name 24-man squad for ODIs and T20Is against England. Interestingly Sri Lanka cricket has included four capped players in the 24 man squad and the selectors are very sure that these young guns will prove themselves in this tour.

Four uncapped players in 24 man squad are: Dhananjaya Lakshan, Ishan Jayaratne, Charith Asalanka, and Shiran Fernando.

Sri Lanka Tour of England will begin on June 18th, 2021 with a practice match against Kent Cricket and they will play one more before the three-match T20I series.

  • June 18: One Day Practice match at Canterbury
  • June 20: T20 Practice match at Hove
  • June 23: First T20I at Cardiff
  • June 24: Second T20I at Cardiff
  • June 26: Third T20I at Southampton
  • June 29: First ODI at Durham
  • July 1: Second ODI at London
  • July 4: Third ODI at Bristol
