David Warner’s Century in 100th Test Match
After making a century in his 100th Test, David Warner joins an elite group of members scoring a century in his 100th match
David Warner’s Century in 100th Test Match: In their 100th Test match, the opener David Warner joined Ricky Ponting as the second Australian to score a century, becoming the tenth player to do so in the whole world. However, Ponting is the only player to date to score two centuries in his 100th Test match.
David Warner disproved the skeptics by playing a memorable inning in his 100th Test match, reaching three figures despite a three-year streak without a century in Test cricket.
In just 144 balls, Warner reached the three-figure mark by dragging a Kagiso Rabada delivery down to fine leg for a boundary and earning the adoration of the Melbourne crowd.
First Test century since January 2020
During Tuesday’s match between Australia and South Africa, David Warner, who just joined the 100-Test club finally passed the century milestone. Warner smashed his 25th Test ton and 45th international hundred in a brilliant response to recent criticism. This is his first century in a Test match since January 2020.
David Warner ended an almost three-year Test century drought with a spectacular performance against South Africa at the MCG.
Australia vs South Africa Second Test Match
A string of the top-order batters found ways to lose their wicket when Pat Cummins summoned them to bat, a move that caused quite a stir. But while they faced humiliation and were down 67-5, a partnership emerged.
Smith (56) and Warner (133), who now have a third-wicket partnership worth 150 runs, each contributed 85 runs to the total. South Africa is still looking for their second wicket of the day as Australia cruised to 2-225 with a lead of 37.
After cutting Jansen for his fifth boundary of the day, Smith scores his 37th Test fifty. Beautiful stroke. Early on, as Smith was showing signs of unease, most notably when Verreynne dropped him on the ninth hole, but he has moved past it and now appears to be at ease.
David Warner One Great of Australia
David before leading up to the second test against South Africa stated that he wanted to perform really well in his 100th test match and so he did what he wanted out of his 100th test match.
If he again scores a century he will be joining the records books along with Ricky Pointing who scored two centuries in his 100th test match. Let’s wait and see if he can do it or not.
