Sources suggest that BCCI rejected ECB’s offer

BCCI’s officials shrugged off the suggestions of hosting India vs Pakistan Test matches

Intro

A BCCI official has stated that it is next to no likelihood. Pakistan playing any Bilateral cricket in the near future on neutral grounds is impossible.

The authorities from BCCI laughed off the suggestions at first. Then they stated that no such possibilities might exist. At least in the next few years, after the ECB made the offer for its own commercial interests.

Although the England and Wales Cricket Board has formally proposed to organize a bilateral Test series between Pakistan and India, BCCI sources have claimed there is “next to no possibility” that it will take place soon.

The Unofficial Statement

The deputy chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board, Martin Darlow, spoke with the Pakistan Cricket Board during the current Twenty20 series and proposed England’s stadiums as potential venues for a future three-match Test series, the UK daily “Telegraph” reported.

While the ECB made the offer for its own economic gain. The BCCI’s officials shrugged off the suggestions, saying that no such opportunities would occur in the following few years.

BCCI’s take on the Situation

A BCCI official in a recent statement said. “Firstly, ECB spoke to PCB about an Indo-Pak series and that’s a bit weird. In any case, a series against Pakistan is not something that the BCCI will decide but it is the decision of the government. As of now, the stance remains the same. We only play Pakistan at multi-team events.”

The most recent bilateral white-ball match between India and Pakistan took place there in 2012, and the most recent Test match was in 2007.

Because of the antagonistic political relations between the neighbors, the BCCI officials opposes the idea regardless of whether it is played at home, away, or a neutral venue.

Benefits

Both sponsorship revenue and also television viewership are hugely attractive in England. As per the report, the PCB “is not keen on playing India at a neutral location but are pleased for the ECB’s gesture.

Which underlines the strengthening cooperation between the two boards.” Its suggested that since the major countries are once more touring Pakistan. It would be a retrograde move in their eyes for them to perform there.

Ind vs Pak anticipation

If this India vs Pakistan test match happens. It will surely be one of the best things to watch out for. India and Pakistan clash is always eye-catching or interesting and with England being the neutral venue it will definitely create a huge hype in the cricketing world.

Chris Woakes, who hasn’t played since the West Indies series in March. Due to injuries he might get called up, when England’s series against Pakistan commences on Wednesday in Lahore. The fifth T20 could be threatened by the series being at 2-2. Due to the heavy rain that prevented England from holding practices on Tuesday in Lahore.
