Sourav Ganguly on Virat Kohli: “Will find his form in Asia Cup”

The 33-year-old former Indian captain Virat Kholi will be back in action on August 27 in the Asia Cup first match against Pakistan. There are concerns regarding his form as he struggling to score runs in all formats of the game and has been inconsistent in the past two years.

In the recent tour of England Virat failed to show his class as he only managed to score 31 runs in the Edgbaston Tests and in ODI’s he capped only 33 runs in two matches, In T20Is he scored 1 in the first T20 and 11 runs in the second T20.

Every player has a rough patch in his/her career and Virat is facing that period of his life right now some fans feel that Virat can’t bring back his old form.

Many players have backed him and also gave mental support to Virat so that he can regain his form and score like he use to do before.

One such person supporting Virat was Sourav Ganguly the BCCI president and former Indian captain had few words to say when asked about Virat’s role in the upcoming Asia Cup He said that “Let him practice, let him play matches. He is a big player and has scored plenty of runs. I am hopeful that he will make a comeback. He is just not being able to score a century and I believe he will find his form in the Asia Cup,”

The last time when India faced Pakistan was in T20 World Cup 2021 in Dubai where Kohli took on the Pak bowlers apart, he scored fifty in that game but his efforts went in wane when the Pak batsman destroyed the Indian bowling attack and won the match by 10 wickets, with the victory Pakistan had created history by beating India for the first time in the ICC major tournaments.

Virat Kohli will be waiting for his redemption as the Indian side will face Pakistan in the Asia Cup Opener on August 27th. We will have to wait and watch how the King Kohli plays in the Asia Cup 2022.
