Sophie Devine Named As New Zealand Captain

New Zealand Cricket named Sophie Devine as a permanent national skipper. Devine stepped in for Amy Satterthwaite when the latter wanted to leave for the second half of 2019. In January of this year, 30-year-old Devine was appointed captain in the lead-up to the Women’s T20 World Cup, where New Zealand took the group-stage exit. Satterthwaite is going to return as Devine ‘s deputy. Devine expressed her gratitude that the job had been handed over and spoke of forging a strong leadership bond with her second-in-command Satterthwaite.
