Smriti Mandhana Recalls Virat Kohli Inspirational Advice In Chat

Smriti Mandhana Was Talking To Former England Cricketer Isa Guha:

Smriti Mandhana, the star Indian woman cricketer, recalled a meeting that she had with Virat Kohli, where the men’s team skipper sent her an encouraging letter. Former England cricketer Isa Guha Smriti Mandhana, during the BBC podcast ‘The doosra,’ said that when she talked about the game with Virat Kohli for the first time, he told her that the team of women was capable of inspiring a generation of female sports in India.

Mandhana said, “He told me your team (woman’s team) can do what men’s team in India can’t, that’s to change women’s culture in India. 

The young batter from the left-handed suggested that Virat Kohli, who was the leader in helping India become one of the fittest outfits for men’s cricket, try to never miss a gym.

Mandhana And Rodrigues Have Also Started A Talk Show On YouTube

“If you like a gym, just think that a generation of women in India will really encourage you not just to take sports with cricket,” added Mandhana. 

Mandhana spends time at home during the coronavirus pandemic, just like other cricketers all over the world.

Indian cricketers use social media to connect with and entertain their fans during this process. 

Mandhana recently posted a funny video on Instagram along with her teammate Jemimah Rodrigues. Both players can play an old Bollywood track in the video.

A YouTube talk show called ‘Double Trouble’ was also introduced by Mandhana and Rodriguez. 

In one episode the duo played with Sania Mirza and her popular “joru ka ghulam” tweet was opened by the as a tennis player.

In May 2019, she received the 2019 CEAT International Cricket Awards for Women’s Cricket of the Year. She became the third-fastest cricketer, in terms of innings, in November 2019, in the series against the West Indians in 2000 runs in WODIs, doing it in her 51st innings. 

She was selected for the 20 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia in India’s squad in January 2020.
