A men’s 50-over competition of cricket was played once, in Kuala Lumpur in 1998. At that time, South Africa took home the gold.

Following the same, the Srilanka Cricket Board has made changes to their regular squad and has released a list of squad members for the Commonwealth Games 2022.

Despite being a member of the team that faced India in a limited-overs series, Sathya Sandeepani, Kaushani Nuthyangana, Hansima Karunaratne, and Tharika Sewwandi have been left out of Sri Lanka’s roster for the 2017 Commonwealth games, which will be held in Birmingham and begin on July 28.

Once more, Chamari Athapaththu will captain the team. Additionally, Sri Lanka will be hoping that promising all-rounder Kavisha Dilhari puts up noteworthy performances along with some of the other important players on the team like Inoka Ranaweera and Oshadi Ranasinghe.
