Shoaib Akhtar Defines MS Dhoni In An Unexpected Way

Mahinder Singh Dhoni defines a whole new era of Indian cricket. His regime as India’s captain took the Men in Blue team to the pinnacle of world cricket. Mahi is the only skipper to win three ICC major trophies- T20 World Cup, the 50-50 World Cup, and the Champions Trophy.

MSD is an emotion for the millions of Indians and he leaves behind tons of memories for his fans to cherish. MS Dhoni is a people’s person, his cool and calm captaincy managed to win many hearts all over the world. One of his fans is all the way over in Pakistan and he is none other than bowling legend Shoaib Akhtar himself.

Shoaib Akhtar defines MSD as an era

Recently, Shoaib Akhtar conducted a Q&A session on his Twitter handle. One of the fans from Pakistan asked him: “What you say about MS Dhoni.” In reply, Akhtar stated that Dhoni defines a complete era, writing, “It’s the name of an era”. Akhtar, who is known to speak his heart out, had the highest compliment for MSD.

Everyone is aware of the grudging rivalry between India and Pakistan which has been going-on on for decades now. However, seeing a Pakistan bowler praising a former Indian skipper just shows MSD’s impact over the game throughout his glorious career.

MS Dhoni’s Illustrious career

In August 2020, MSD called it a quits from International cricket. MSD finished his ODI career with 10,773 runs at 50.56 and scored 4,876 and 1,617 runs in Tests and T20Is respectively. MS Dhoni minted a total of 16 tons, 108 half-centuries, 359 sixes, 634 catches, 195 stumpings in international cricket. However, MSD is still a part of the Chennai Super Kings franchise and will captain the side again in this year’s Dream11 Indian Premier League.
