Shikhar Dhawan may not be appearing in the upcoming matches which are going to be held in the world cup. Due to a hairline fracture in his left thumb, he was ruled out for 3 weeks. According to BCCI, the replacement of the player is not yet made.
Dhawan got injured during the previous match against Australia which was held on Sunday. He has gone for a scan on Monday and reports reveal as a fracture. In spite of being injured, he could end up the match with the century. However, he did not appear in India’s innings.
Shikhar Dhawan is the key player for India in ICC world tournament where he has up to 6 hundred. In the 2015 World Cup, Dhawan had scored 2 hundred. In the match against Australia, he could make 117 to set up 36 run wins for India.
Shikar Dhawan was given with man of the match in his sterling innings. Shikhar Dhawan not being in the matches which are held further is a big drawback to the Indian squad.
They are yet to decide the replacement of Shikhar Dhawan with Shreyas Iyer or Rishabh Pant in the Indian team. They probably want to put KL Rahul to be the partner with Rohit Sharma and sort out for a middle order batsman. In the squad, Dinesh Karthik and Vijay Shankar are likely to be the middle order batsmen.
