Premier Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi has announced the wedding of his eldest daughter with pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi. 44-year-old Afridi confirmed the news that his daughter Aqsa Afridi will tie the knot with Shaheen in the coming months. Shahid Afridi also disclosed the fact that Aqsa and Shaheen were not in any kind of a relationship before the bowler’s family approached his family for the marriage. Afridi added that Shaheen and his family belong to a different tribe in the surname “Afridi” clan. “We Afridis have eight tribes, Shaheen and we belong to different tribes,” former Pakistani skipper and one-time World Cup winner was quoted as saying by GeoTV.

Afridi stated that his daughter is an aspiring doctor and she can pursue her future education in England. Shahid Afridi, earlier, confirmed the wedding of his daughter via a tweet. “Shaheen’s family approached my family for my daughter. Both families are in touch, matches are made in heaven if Allah wills this match will be made too. My prayers are with Shaheen for his continued success on and off the field,” Afridi had said in one of his tweets.
