Indian Capitan Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat in the match against Bangladesh at Edgbaston on Monday. The openers had justified the match with a good start. Rohit Sharma has opened the innings and has made a century in just 92 deliveries.
However, Wickets fell in regular intervals which made the score to slow down and MS Dhoni was trying hard to take the innings till the final over.
MS Dhoni has been criticized for his slow innings which he played against England. Putting his criticism aside Sachin Tendulkar has supported his way of approach in the match and said that Dhoni did exactly what the team needs at a particular moment.
“I felt it was an important inning and he (MS Dhoni) did exactly what was right for the team. If he stays till the 50th over, he can help other guys around him. He is expected to do that and he did that,” – Sachin told.
Interestingly, Sachin has criticized Dhoni in the match against Afghanistan and adviced him that a senior player like him should have a positive intent while playing.
“I felt slightly disappointed, it could have been much better. I was also not happy with the partnership between Kedar and Dhoni, it was very slow. We batted 34 overs of spin bowling and scored 119 runs. This was one area where we didn’t look comfortable at all. There was no positive intent,” – Sachin told after the match against Afganistan.
