Sachin Says Cricket Might Be A Different Sport In Post Corona Days

Legend Sachin Tendulkar will be observing his 47th birthday on Friday. However, he has announced that he will not celebrate his birthday grandly due to the fallout of corona.

On the occasion, the great batsman spoke with a newspaper on various issues.

Sachin, when asked about his daily routine, said his day starts with exercise and after that, he discusses the pending works with his SRTSM (Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar Sports Management).

He also said due to the ongoing lockdown he is not traveling and getting a lot of time to spend with his family members where they all indulge in playing board games, watching television, and listening to music from the ’70s to this day.

Sachin: Mental Health Also Important For Players

He further said a sportsman should also keep mental fitness going and it is not just physical fitness. ” If you are mentally healthy, you know this time will pass too. And when it passes, you are in a good state of mind to move on to the next challenge,” he added.

Reacting about how the players will get back into rhythm when cricket is back he said that the game will not resume suddenly where you have to play matches the next day after the lockdown is lifted and that there will be time for preparation.

“Saliva Might Not Be Used On Ball In Future”

Tendulkar has weighed in on the discussion of using saliva for maintaining the shine of the ball. He said there might be no use of saliva in the future and other hygienic ways might be introduced but he can’t say what they might be. He feels that the game will change where hygiene will be most important.

He noted that playing inside empty stadiums might feel strange as players draw energy from crowds and it might feel like net practice. The energy we get from crowds will be missed he added.

About postponing IPL and its impact on people involved with it Tendulkar said the lockdown is in the interest of the nation and nothing comes above it.
