Saba Karim Says It’s Too Late To Add Chahal To The T20-WC Team

Yuzvendra Chahal was not selected for the T20 World Cup team, while the selectors chose the spin combo of R Ashwin as well as Ravindra Jadeja, along with a few other important players. Chahal had a rough time in the first part of the IPL and hasn’t been able to put up an outstanding performance in international cricket recently. Yet, he has found his place in the UAE leg of the IPL, which has prompted speculation that he may be included in the team for the major show.

In the 2nd part of the league, the leg-spinner has grown stronger. He has taken 10 wickets and placed the side in a good spot in the 5 matches of the UAE leg as now. He was named ‘Player of the Match’ in the game versus the Rajasthan Royals for his outstanding performance in which he bagged two wickets and surrendered only 18 runs.

Chahal has shown great improvement in the IPL UAE leg: Saba Karim

Chahal then had a fantastic effort versus Punjab Kings, assisting RCB to secure their place in the top 4. His recent form has sparked expectations that he may be included in India’s T20 World Cup team. Former India cricketer and selector Saba Karim, on the other hand, believes it is too late. He also stated that the leg-spinner would have to wait since the form of the picked players will be taken into considerations before Chahal is given the go-ahead.

I think it’s too late now. People have been talking about making changes in the squad, but that can only happen if someone gets injured. You also have to see Rahul Chahar was performing very well when he got selected. We saw both of them (Chahal and Chahar) in Sri Lanka, and his performances there were definitely noteworthy, which is why he was picked by selectors,” Saba Karim said in an Interaction.

Now, in the second half of the IPL, Chahal has shown great improvement in his performances, which is very good. But he will have to wait for a little. The players who have been selected, their form and performances will be seen before Chahal is given a chance again,” he added.
