SA VS PAK Match Highlights:

Team Pakistan continued their winning run in the marquee event by defeating the South African side.  By 33 runs in the 36TH match of the ICC T20 World Cup at Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday.

Pakistan won the toss and opted to Bat first, Pakistan posted 185 on board, courtesy of some brilliant batting displays by the Pakistan middle order batters.

Rain Interrupted the game:

Batting next Proteas, chasing a total of 186, started with good batting in the power play overs. The score paused to 69 in the 9 overs. Later in the innings, the game was resumed under the DLS method with the revised targets of 142 in 14 overs. They were to defend 73from 30 deliveries then bowlers maintained the momentum by restricting the Proteas to 108 for 9 wickets.

Iftikhar Ahmed’s 51 runs and Shadab khan with 52 runs starred Pakistan in the first innings, Also Nawaz and Haris played a good knock of 28 runs each. To make the score 185 in the 20 overs. The top batters could not make the power play overs worthwhile playing on Sydney Cricket Ground.

SA VS PAK Match Highlights:

SA started their campaign on a slow note with Temba Bavuma and De Kock on board in the first over. Things were going modest for the side. And then Pakistan lost their first wicket very early in the form of Quinton De Kock. After that Rilee Rossouw was dismissed for 7.

After an early dismissal, both batters Quinton De Kock and Rossouw took on the campaign ahead with a steady approach and put 48 on board in powerplay overs. The batters then shifted their gears and tried to hit the shot in every corner of the stadium,

After that Rilee, A Markram was dismissed by a short inning of 20runs by Shadab khan. The ball slides on the angle and crashes into the stumps. Both set Batters back in the dugout for South Africa. Shadab khan has brought Pakistan right back into the game 66/4

Match after the DLS

South Africa to Chase 142 in 14 Overs

As the match was resumed by the DLS method the target was cut short to 142 in 14 overs because rain stopped the play.

Pakistan’s Key bowler, Shaeen Afridi started the proceedings for Pakistan’s side. Shaheen Afridi took 3 wickets playing against South Africa.

From the other end,

Shadab khan took the stage and after a good knock of 20 runs, he dismissed A Markram his job and gave momentum to the team and a good start which was needed by the Proteas.

Later in the innings, No Proteas batters stayed long on the pitch Tristan Stubbs tried to hit some runs. Also, took some charge to defend the score he managed to score 20 runs in 14 balls was an attacking inning from his side making it the Pakistan bowlers under pressure.

A complete performance by Pakistan! It was Shaheen Afridi who set the tone for Pakistan with two wickets in his first two overs. Just when a partnership was blossoming. Shadab Khan removed both set batters in the eighth over just before the rain intervened. With 73 needed off the final five overs, Pakistan held their nerves and successfully defended the total.

South Africa required to smash sixes on every ball to clinch the win. The road was looking impossible to complete on time for them and Pakistan Bowlers made it impossible for them in the last over.

South Africa could not play the full 20 overs quota, as the Rain disturbed the game which restricted them to play full game. With 14 overs and target of 142 runs. Therefore,Pakistan won the match by 33 runs under the DLS method.
