Opting to bat, didn’t start the way they wanted to as they lost their skipper in the first over itself.

Bangladesh were seen quite happy after claiming a big wicket in the first over, but they won’t aware of what de Kock and Rilee Rossouw want them to see.

Both the players provide the Bangladesh bowlers a hard time at the ground by adding 168 runs for the second wicket in just 81 balls.

The wicketkeeper batter Quinton de Kock contributed 63 to his team’s total before Afif Hossain dismissed him. His knock of 63 came in just 38 balls with the help of seven fours and three sixes.

The Proteas were at 170 in 14.3 when de Kock left the crease, Rossouw, however, was still there but the other batters didn’t managed to score quick runs and got out cheaply that halted the team’s vision of putting somewhere around 230 on board to 205.

Still, the total was too huge to chase, and credit goes to Rilee Rossouw, who smashed his second ton in T20Is. He stayed at the crease till 19th over and scored 109 in process while taking just 56 balls. His knock included seven fours and eight maximums.

In reply, the Tigers started their run-chase campaign on a high note, having smashed 17 runs in the first over of Kagiso Rabada and 9 off Wayne Parnell’s over.

But their campaign didn’t stayed for long as Nortje stunned them with his unplayable plays and removed both the openers in the third over.

After losing 2 quick wickets, Shakib’s side on slipped on back-foot in a 200-plus run chase, no batters managed to stay on crease for long due to pressure. Liton Das scored the highest run for the side (34). Apart from him, the second-highest was of Soumya Sarkar’s 15.

Anrich Nortje was just unplayable the day, as in his 3.3 overs he just gave 10 and took 4 wickets. Tabraiz Shamsi took 3 wickets. While Kagiso Rabada and Keshav Maharaj bagged 1-1 each.

Rilee Rossouw was awarded with the player of the match trophy for his spectacular 109 runs knock in just 56 balls that set the tone for his side to claim first victory in the tournament,
