RR vs GT Head to Head Records, Stats In IPL History – IPL 2022 Finals

Rajasthan Royals vs Gujarat Titans Head To Head Records Preview:

RR vs GT Head to Head: It is fair that the two best sides in the tournament will play the final. The Gujarat Titans were the first to book their spot in the finals. They defeated the Rajasthan Royals in the first qualifier to enter their maiden final in the very first year. RR had to take the longer route to qualify for the finals. They overcame RCB in a lop-sided qualifier contest.

Gujarat has past records favouring them as they have won both the times these sides have met. RR will be keen to ace the third-time lucky mantra. The stage is set in readiness for the biggest match of the season.

Current Form: Gujarat Titans

Eleven wins in fifteen games sums up the story of Gujarat Titans this season. Not many had given them a chance at the start of the season. But here they are standing tall as one of the two teams vying for the big prize. Hardik Pandya has led the side admirably. It is visible that the players want to step up for the franchise. Game after game, players have stood up to be counted. It was the David Miller show in the first qualifier.

The chase looked steep for Titans at the halfway stage. But they had pulled out many such Houdini acts this season. The belief was there right from the ball one. They paced the chase beautifully. Miller and Pandya stitched an unbeaten 106 runs partnership to take the side home. The middle-order has been their biggest strength along with their bowling. GT will be hoping they all come together for one final time this season.

Current Form: Rajasthan Royals

The Rajasthan Royals were stunned in the first qualifier. They had every right to believe they had enough runs in the bank. But clinical batting from the Titans resulted in RR heading into qualifier two. They were up against the form team, Royal Challengers Bangalore. It was RCB who was everyone’s favourite in this game. RR had a lot stacked up against them. Their bowling in particular was under the scanner.

Sanju Samson, the RR skipper chose to bowl first despite all that had transpired in the previous game. But his bowlers made a roaring comeback. Prasidh Krishna and Obed McCoy in particular were devastating. They returned with three wickets apiece. RR bowlers choked RCB conceding just 34 runs in the final five overs. Jos Buttler then single-handedly carried his team to the finals. RR will be keen to repeat the heroics of the last game against RCB to lay their hands on a second silverware.

The stakes:

Two neighbouring states will vie for one big prize. The Gujarat Titans have played with aplomb right through the season. They will be waiting to put on a show in their maiden final. RR on the other hand will want to do it for their first royal, Shane Warne. It will be a fitting finale where any team who takes the trophy will be deserving of the title.
