Rohit Sharma has set the ICC World Cup 2019 stage on fire with his outstanding display of batting so far in the tournaments. Presently leading the charts of batsmen, Rohith made 647 runs ahead of Australia’s David Warner with 638.

Rohit looks determined to lift World Cup trophy for the third time as the Rohit’s childhood coach Lad says he wanted it to do for MS Dhoni.

Since last few days, the speculations surrounding MS Dhoni’s retirement from the International cricket after the World Cup 2019 has come to an end. Dhoni played a crucial role in ensuring the Indian team lifted the World Cup in 2011.

This time the Jharkhand cricketer Rohit Sharma wanted to win the trophy and gift it for MS Dhoni.

“Dhoni promoted Rohit to open the innings and the latter became successful from there. Now, it seems like he wants to gift him the Cup as it is Dhoni’s last World Cup,” – Lad said.

When Rohit Sharma was playing in the middle-order he used to through his wicket away. However, in 2013 in the champions trophy, Dhoni asked him to open the match in England. It was from then on Rohit’s career turned on.

“He is playing with maturity and knows if he stays at the wicket for 10-12 overs he can go on to make a hundred. He is the vice-captain of the team and knows he has to stay at the crease with Virat Kohli as long as possible,” – Lad added.

The Lad said that after Rohith’s marriage and they were blessed with a baby girl, he started being very much responsible for the things.

“Wife (Ritika Sajdeh) has been lucky for him and he has become more responsible especially after his daughter was born. He has himself said it and he made sure it has transformed into his batting. He is keen to stay at the wicket more and during the ongoing World Cup, he has been dismissed twice early against Afghanistan and West Indies. In the other seven games, he scored at least a half-century” – Lad said.
