On Wednesday, India opener batsman Rohit Sharma reached another massive milestone by hitting 400 international sixes across all formats.

During the final T20I between India and West Indies at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, he played a lofted shot against Sheldon Cottrell that landed right on the rope to bring up his 400th maximum in the international arena.

Rohit Sharma has a huge number of records in his name. Now, he added another achievement to that list. He became the first Indian cricketer to hit 400 international sixes. Previously, Shahid Afridi(476) and Chris Gayle (534) were the only batsmen to hit more than 400 international sixes.

Rohit Sharma hit 404 sixes in his international career so far. Of which, 232 sixes came in one-day internationals, 52 in Test matches and 120 in T20 international matches. Rohit Sharma held the record for the most number of sixes in 2017 and 2018. He scored 65 sixes in 2017 and 74 in 2018.

In the scheduled three-match T20 series between India and West Indies, India defeated West Indies by 6 wickets in the first T20I. In the second T20I, West Indies won over India, and the third and final T20I of Three match series is scheduled to be played on 11th December at Wankhede stadium, Mumbai.

The T20 international series will be followed by a three-match ODI series.

BCCI announced 15-member squads for T20I and ODIs on November 21.
