VVS Laxman praises Rohit Sharma

“He became a Deccan Chargers Team leader. He was a young man who only played the T20 World Cup when he first came to India and then he made his international debut. I believe the middle way he was batting, under pressure, because in the first IPL edition, the team did not do well in 2008.

“Rohit has been an outstanding player for us. With every performance, his level of confidence grew every time he played, he joined the core community and gave support to young people, shared his view and these are the early signs,” said Laxman at Star Sports’ Cricket Connected series.

He recited that the batsman of India showed how to stay calm and disciplined under pressure. Laxman says that Rohit has built him into a skipper and a batsman in difficult situations. He also cited it as IPL ‘s best skipper. Rohit Sharma is the third leading run-scorers in Indian Premier League history in 188 games, with 4898 runs.

“Nonetheless, the most important thing for me is to handle the pressure and he handled the situation perfectly well. He is therefore one of the most successful IPL captains ever, “he added.
