Indian opener Rohit Sharma has stepped up with great batting skills throughout the group matches of the tournament. But he failed to make in the semi-finals, where it would have mattered the most and conceded that the 30 minutes of poor cricket has grabbed the chance of India lifting their third World Cup title in England.

In the semi-finals, Rohit was caught at a very early stage in the 2nd over and following India lost KL Rahul and Virat Kohli in the next overs.

After a loss of three wickets, India was in a crucial phase to chase a score of 240. It was Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni who took the match close to the target. But their efforts were drowned away and left with a loss of 18 runs in the match against New Zealand.

After the match, Rohit Sharma’s reaction from the dressing room went on viral in the social media as Indian Vice-Capitan was very much disappointed after the loss of the wicket at an early stage.

He took to social media to post a heartfelt message after the loss of semi-finals against New Zealand at Manchester.

“We failed to deliver as a team when it mattered, 30 minutes of poor cricket yesterday & that snatched away from our chance for the cup. My heart is heavy as I’m sure yours is too. The support away from home was incredible. Thank you all for painting most of UK blue wherever we played (sic),” – Rohit tweeted.

Rohit Sharma was not a part of India’s World Cup-winning team in 2011. He played with a lot of determination and dedication that he has smashed 648 runs in 9 matches. Rohit was the first player in the history of the sport to hit 5 hundred’s in13 this World Cup.

Sachin speaking about Rohit said that he must be feeling terrible and will take some time to come out of his disappointment.

“He [Rohit Sharma] must be feeling terrible and so bad about the way we have ended this WC. It’s something which he will take quite some time to overcome because this is a huge disappointment. I feel bad for him. It is a tough time for everyone, we have expectations and dreams. All I can say is its been a tough day. How bad they must be feeling in the dressing room. I fully agree that we should have chased 240. 10 out of 10 times we would have taken that.” – Sachin Tendulkar said.
