Ravichandran Ashwin Imitates Imran Tahir After Taking Two Wickets Against Karnataka

Ravichandran Ashwin has always known to be an interesting character in the cricket field. The experienced spinner sweated it out in the domestic circuit and made his way back into the Indian team before impressing in the Test series against South Africa and Bangladesh. During the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy final between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, the veteran was unable to guide his team to victory but his celebration drew comparisons with South Africa international Imran Tahir – another cricketer who is well known for his show of emotions on the field.

Ashwin was the wrecker-in-chief for Tamil Nadu, against Karnataka, as he grabbed two crucial wickets of KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal in back-to-back deliveries. Ashwin, who is known for his competitiveness on the field, was absolutely pumped up after dismissing the partnership of Rahul and Agarwal, which gave Tamil Nadu a chance to avenge the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019 final defeat against Karnataka.

Ashwin replicates Imran Tahir after grabbing two crucial wickets:

Ashwin started the match with a loopy off-spinner to Rahul, who danced down the track in a bid to clear the long-on boundary rope. However, the stroke wasn’t timed to perfection as the ball traveled straight to the hands of Ashwin near the boundary rope.

The experienced spinner mixed it up in the following delivery to Agarwal, who failed to read the straightener, as Ashwin completed a caught and bowled dismissal. Agarwal wanted to gently push the ball towards the mid-wicket region, with the spin, but the ball didn’t turn and caught a thick edge of Agarwal’s willow to end up back in the palms of Ashwin, who looked ecstatic with the dismissal and completed an Imran Tahir style celebration.
