IPL 2023 Auction: Punjab Kings OVERHAUL continues

IPL 2023 Auction: The team set their eyes on Ben Stokes, Sam Curran, and Cameron: IPL 2023

Punjab Kings have continued their drastic overhaul process for the upcoming Indian Premier League 2023.

Punjab Kings have continued their extensive renovation work in preparation for the forthcoming Indian Premier League 2023 auction (IPL 2023). The team has its sights set on well-known athletes like Ben Stokes, Sam Curran, and Cameroon Green ahead of the December auction. It is a rumor that the PBKS are thinking about releasing players like former captain Mayank Agarwal ($12 million). Also, Shahrukh Khan ($9 million), and Odean Smith (Rs 6 crore).

With a new coach (Trevor Bayliss) and captain (Shikhar Dhawan). Punjab Kings could enter the auction well-funded. The new coach Bayliss is eager to sign two players from the groups of Stokes, Green, and Curran. While PBKS might omit players like Mayank, Shahrukh, and Odean.

Stokes’ apparent enthusiasm for the IPL 2023 sale after declining the mega auction earlier this year is the big buzz surrounding it. He is interested in playing in the IPL even if the Ashes series immediately follows the T20 league in the summer of 2023.

If the availability component were to be disregarded, people like Sam Curran and Cameron Green, to name a few, are likely to show up in the auction. Both are right now taking part in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Curran was unable to take part in the last auction due to an injury.

IPL 2023 Auction: Shikhar Dhawan to lead Punjab Kings in IPL

The team is once again undergoing an overhaul as a result of Punjab Kings’ disappointing performance in IPL 2022. Shikhar Dhawan has taken over as the new captain of the Punjab Kings in place of Mayank Agarwal.

Dhawan recently served as the captain of the Indian squad in a number of ODI and T20I series. In a three-match One-Day International series against South Africa, Dhawan last led India as captain. Dhawan would be a wise decision for Punjab because he has more experience as a captain than Mayank.

Brad Haddin and South Africa bowling coach Charl Langeveldt have most recently joined head coach Trevor Bayliss as members of Punjab Kings’ support staff (PBKS).

Both Jonty Rhodes and Anil Kumble have already lost their jobs as the team’s head coach. The only franchise physio Andrew Leipus has survived the renovation.
