Prabhat Maurya In Place Of Rasikh Salam For India U19 Squad

Young Mumbai Indian and Jammu and Kashmir pacemen Rasikh Salam is banned for two years from the under-19 squad by BCCI for submitting false certificates. Prabhat Maurya replaces Salam in the under-19 squad which was scheduled to participate in a tri-series in England from July 21.

BCCI has clearly mentioned that they are not going to keep any kind of criminal case against Salam and will ban him from the under-19 squad for two years.

“We are not going to pursue any criminal case against Salam. The rule is quite clear that anyone tampering with ‘date-of-birth’ or ‘place-of-issue’ will be banned for a period of two years. The CoA had discussed ‘age verification’ in the meeting but BCCI felt that in this case there was no need to file a criminal complaint,” – BCCI General Manager.
