Ireland Women ‘s senior performance squad was joined by Pace bowler Louise McCarthy, who had taken a break from international cricket in 2017 to pursue her Masters in Diagnostic Radiography in Edinburgh. National Head Coach, Ed Joyce, welcomed McCarthy ‘s move to return to cricket, reckoning her presence created a sense of enthusiasm in the squad. The president of the national selectors for Ireland Women, Carrie Archer, echoed similar sentiments.
