PBKS Watch List? Which players PBKS will look at in the mini auction

Shikhar Dhawan will take over as the team’s new commander, and they intend to keep playing aggressive cricket with the bat. With a stable batting order that features heavy hitters Jonny Bairstow, Liam Livingstone, and Bhanuka Rajapaksa, as well as a world-class pace duo in Arshdeep Singh and Kagiso Rabada, Punjab Kings will concentrate on acquiring a top-notch all-arounder and a spinner to serve as a backup for Rahul Chahar and Harpreet Brar.

With the second-largest remaining budget of any team, the Kings may be able to sign hot commodities Ben Stokes or Cameroon Green. Punjab’s high-risk, high-reward batting strategy is prone to failures, therefore the team may go to outside possibilities Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson, and Joe Root for an anchor.

Punjab may choose N Jagadeesan, who has peaked right before the auctions, to accompany Dhawan. Even though Jitesh is already there to do it. Priyam Garg, who was released by Sunrisers Hyderabad, is an additional choice.

They may choose a left-arm spinner from among the experienced bowlers in India, like Sumit Ruikar of Chhattisgarh, Ninad Rathwa of Baroda, and Shahbaz Nadeem of Jharkhand. They are able to support an all-arounder who bowls off-breaks in Vaisakh Chandran of Kerala.

Why IPL auction 2023 is held in Kochi?

The auction of players for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will be held in Kochi on 23rd December 2022.

Some of the famous urban cities like Bengaluru, New Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad, along with The Turkish city of Istanbul, were in contention to host the auction. However, the BCCI has opted for the coastal Kerala city.

“Logistically, and considering the dates, Kochi turned out to be the most suited option,” a BCCI official told PTI.

This year’s bidding process will be a mini-auction, unlike the regular mega auction. The 10 IPL franchises have submitted their list of retained and released players.
