PCB CEO: ICC is looking for our India visa problem with BCCI

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) CEO, Wasim Khan has said that they want the ICC to solve the Indian Visa problem with BCCI and assure visas for its officials and players when Indian hosts next year T20 World Cup in October.

Wasim Khan also confirmed that in near future, there is no chance to hold any Indo-Pak bilateral series, and neither it can participate in the Fresh the Future Tours Programme (FTP) that is going to begin in 2023.

In October 2021, India will host the T20 World Cup and it is developing tension between India and Pakistan. That’s why PCB wants that the visa issue of their official and players would be dealt with by the ICC.

Exclusive Discussion with PCB CEO:

In an exclusive discussion, PCB CEO told PTI “This is a matter of ICC. We have shared our all concerns with them. There is a ‘Host-Agreement’ in which it is stated that the host country will arrange visas and all accommodation of the teams that are participating in the T20 World Cup and Pakistan is one among them.”

Furthermore, he added, “from ICC, we have received assurance that our players will not face any problem regarding visas and they are taking all responsibility of that and discuss with BCCI because the confirmation and direction will have to come from the government of India.”

Then he said that it is good that there is a time-window for this kind of deadline.

“We have discussed for a deadline to hold the tournament till Dec-Jan, which is a good thing. We expect a reply from the ICC on whether our official members and players will get visas to take part in the tournament.

“In case the visas are not confirmed, then we would expect ICC to take this responsibility to arrange from India and BCCI resolve this issue consulting with the Indian government.”
