PCB Receives Apology From PSL Live Streaming Partner

PCB Warned The Betting Organization To End The Live Streaming

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020 concluded in a very doubtful way. No champions were announced as the league was canceled because of the coronavirus outbreak.

When the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was forced to call off the league, 30 matches are already over, only three matches were remaining. But again a new controversy has come to the flashlight about PSL.

Currently, PCB has received an apology letter from the media live partner of the league. It seems that the media partners have given permission to a United Kingdom betting company, Bet365 to live stream the PSL 2020 matches. This thing was done without taking any permission from the PCB. From a close source, all this information is collected.

PCB informed the betting firm about the blunder

The source quoted “ The actual fact is that the Pakistan Cricket Board became conscious that the PSL tournament was being live streaming by Bet 365 on its official website when the tournament started on February 20. After that, the media live streaming partner also sent an email to the board apologizing for their blunder and accepted that they had a mistake in the complete issue.”

On February 23 or 24, the Pakistan Cricket Board found out about this issue and wrote an official letter to the media partner. The letter stated clearly that the media live streaming partner was going against the rules and regulations decided by the board. The board wrote to the betting firm directly in the March first week, and the live streaming of the tournament was canceled.

Further, the source added “The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) informed the betting firm that the live streaming rights were given without the knowledge of PCB which was a must be in the contract they had with the media partner. It generated in the media that the Pakistan board didn’t know the live streaming of PSL tournament by a betting site, which was wrong.”

This issue has got more highlight because gambling or batting of any kind of game is banned completely in Pakistan.
