Pakistan has made another win against New Zealand by six wickets at Edgbaston. The matches which were held in the 1992 World Cup resembles the same as in 2019.

The win-loss record seems to be identical in more than one way. In 1992, as seen in six matches, the first one was a loss, then a win, then an abandoned match, followed by two loss and a win. The seventh match was a win against New Zealand which was the same as in 1992. Even the results were one and the same in the seventh match.

In 1992’s sixth match, Pakistan won on Australia and man of the match was awarded to Aamir Sohail. In 2019, Pakistan won on South Africa and man of the match was awarded to Haris Sohail.

Again in 1992, Pakistan won with 5 balls to spare and a century was made by Ramiz Raja. A similar result was seen with Babar Azam made a century and the team won by 5 balls to spare.

Pakistan Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed didn’t show much interest when asked about the similarities of the 1992 and 2019 matches.

“We are not thinking about the 1992 World Cup, we are taking game by game here. We are confident as a team and hopefully, we will do well,” – Sarfaraz Ahmed.
