No Dhoni, Only Two Indian Players In JP Duminy Selected IPL XI

Duminy Recently Picked His All-Time IPL XI:

The 13th edition of the IPL this year has not yet been guaranteed to be conducted. The Covid-19 pandemic has left the future of IPL 2020 lurking in darkness. According to recent updates, IPL could be held in October if ICC decides to postpone the T20 World Cup scheduled for Australia. The decision was delayed until 10 June at the last ICC meeting on 28 May.

Meanwhile, JP Duminy, former all-round South African, was busy with a number of social media events, as were many other cricketers. In ‘The Super Over Podcast’ the socialist just picked up his all-time IPL XI. But the IPL ‘s four foreigners and seven Indians were not observed in South Africa.

His squad consisted of nine cricketers from around the world and just two Indians.

Chris Gayle, who continues to be the record holder of the highest individual score (175) and the most six IPL ranking, was chosen by Duminy as his first opener. Gayle is currently part of the Kings XI Punjab squad, which did most of the destruction for the Bangalore Royal Challengers.

Duminy surprised a few by selecting Gayle ‘s opening partner for Australian Adam Gilchrist. In Deccan Chargers’ 2009 IPL maiden title win, Gilchrist played a key role.

Rohit Sharma Was Picked As The No.3 Batsman:

The most effective IPL captain, Rohit Sharma, was named batsman No.3 in Duminy ‘s squad. In 188 IPL matches, Rohit has 4898 matches – the third most.

Dumine’s No.4 batsman was chosen as IPL ‘s top run-scorer, Virat Kohli. Kohli was also named Captain of the Duminy ‘s team, despite not winning a single IPL for RCB.

The backbone of the Duminy middle order was South Africa’s AB de Villiers, who scored 4,395 runs across 154 IPL matches.

Places 6 and 7 belonged to Kieron Pollard and Andre Russell, strong western Indians.

In Duminy’s all-time IPL XI, there was no place for those like MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina.

Duminy has selected Brett Lee and Lasith Malinga (170 wickets in 122 matches) as two of its top wicket-takers for Australia and for IPL.

He has led with his two experts Muttiah Muralitharan, a legendary Sri Lankan spinner who has 63 scalps in his 65 IPL games and Imran Tahir, the South African leggie. In 55 IPL matches, Tahir has 79 wickets.
