Jofra Archer Excluded From Sri Lanka Tour And IPL

Jofra Archer Ruled Out

Jofra Archer is a fast bowler of the England cricket team. And he will miss this year’s Indian Premier League and England’s tour of Sri Lanka because of getting a stress fracture in his elbow.

During the recent Test tour of South Africa which England won by 3-1, Archer was troubled by problems with his right elbow. As a result, he missed the second and third Tests.

Then Jofra was excluded from the fourth Test match in the warm-up session as he suffered a repeated pain in the area while bowling.

Affect Of Jofra Archer’s Absence

The England Cricket management said, ” Jofra will start an injury rehabilitation program with the ECB medical team to get ready for the international summer campaign against West Indies in a three-match Test series which is going to start in June.”

England will travel to Sri Lanka in the next month to play two Tests. It is not only his team who will feel the effect of Archer’s absence, but also Rajasthan Royals, who had reserved him for this season.

His absence before the beginning of IPL next month will affect Rajasthan Royals badly. Archer was bought by the franchise for 7.6 crores in the 2018 auction. And he proved that he was worth the price as he became their regular bowler.

Past Records

The fast-bowler has represented England team in fourteen ODIs and seven Test matches taking 23 and 30 wickets respectively. With that, he has also played a single game of T20I.

Jofra has collected 26 wickets at an average of 23.69 in 21 IPL games. He also took 15 wickets in 10 games at an average of 21.66 in his maiden IPL season in 2018. And then taken 11 wickets in the following season at an average rate of 26.45.
