New Zealand vs Australia’s first ODI starts today

Skipper Kane Williamson will lead New Zealand for the Australia tour which will start today, the first ODI will start around 10 clocks. New Zealand will be looking to end their seven-match losing streak against Australia in the ODI format,

Australia on the other hand will be looking to bounce back after the loss against Zimbabwe, even though they won the series against Zimbabwe 2-1 the loss in the last match of the series raised some concerns in fans.

There is nothing new to New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson, as he has captained many times during his career. Kane has also led his side to the ODI World Cup final and lost it to England.

Australia has won the toss and decided to bowl first in the first match, New Zealand will be looking to make a mark, before the T20 World Cup in Australia. It has been so many years since New Zealand won an ODI match on Australian soil now they have the chance to redeem themselves and change things around.

When asked about their losing streak on Australian soil skipper Kane Williamson stated “It’s a tricky one because it is changing – so much seems to have happened so quickly,” Williamson told reporters. “It does seem to be a movement in the landscape of the game. Every case is unique and every case has got their individual needs at different stages of their lives.”

He further added saying “There are a lot of different franchise events happening and seeing players make decisions on their playing careers, it suggests that there is a balance to strike and some things to work through. At the moment I’m very much here and looking to do my very best for the team. I love being involved in this environment.”
