Former Indian Capitan MS Dhoni was on the social media since the ICC World cup 2019, after which he took a break from the cricket to serve the Indian Army.
Dhoni was not a part of the team in the recently concluded West Indies tour and is also not available in the ongoing South Africa Tour to India. Further, it was reported that he will be missing India’s upcoming home T20 series against Bangladesh in November as he has extended his break till November.
A recent report suggests that the main reason behind MS Dhoni not playing after the World Cup has been his wrist and back injury.
Dhoni was seen having trouble in his back since the Indian Premier League (IPL) earlier this year. He was also seen taking treatment on his back during the tournament and had missed a game against the Mumbai Indians (MI) as well.
Dhoni went into the World Cup with an injured back which was aggravated as the tournament progressed. In addition to it, right-handed batsman picked up a wrist injury during the World Cup.
There has been no official update from the BCCI regarding his injury or even his further availability. There were also reports of him waiting for Rishabh Pant to get ready for the T20 World Cup next year before calling it quits.
It remains to be seen now if the wicketkeeper-batsman will feature in the home series against the West Indies in December later this year.
