Former Indian Skipper Mohammad Azharuddin is back in the headlines. This time he has made few statements on all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.

He wants to see Jadeja In the Semi-Final squad in order to add power to the batting line-up and give an extra hand for the tumbling middle order of India.

Virat and Co. have already booked their place in Semi-finals but the main question is with which team they are going to battle with.

Indian Team has been criticized a lot for losing their momentum after the fall of the top order which includes Rohit and Kohli and the team has struggled a lot to put a defendable score on board. The middle order is a haunting factor in India’s batting performance.

Azharuddin wants Jadeja to take that Anchor role in the middle order and the left-arm spin will add up as an extra bowling option for Virat, and undoubtedly his spectacular fielding efforts.

“In the last game, I thought maybe Jadeja could have played because you had a very thin batting line-up. Jadeja on these wickets with the ball holding up and not coming on to the bat will be a force to reckon with. He is also a good fielder and a lusty batsman. They should try him against Sri Lanka.”

Dhoni and Jadhav were trolled badly for their partnership in the final overs and questioned their intent for the game against England.

Dinesh Karthik was replaced Jadhav in the next game at Edgbaston, against Bangladesh.

“Definitely the middle order has not done well. You need to be prepared because sometimes the three wickets fall early, a stylish middle-order batsman known for his wristy strokeplay. Rishabh Pant coming back has given the team some stability. But still, a lot was expected from Kedar Jadhav but he has not delivered.”- He added

“You need to have a re-look at the players who are going to play in the semi-finals.”

Azhar pointed Dhoni and said – “Sometimes you have to get on with the game. If you lose your wicket it’s fine but you have to score runs. You have to apply yourself, you can’t play scoring shots all the time.”

And He appreciated the young Pacemen Jasprit Bumrah and said.

“The bowling has been exceptional. They have bowled according to the wickets. Pitches haven’t been exactly free-flowing for batting. The tracks are not as quick as you expect them. The ball is not coming onto the bat.”

The former is confident enough that team India can clinch a third World Cup and will the trophy at Lord’s on 14 July.

“Of course they can win the tournament, they have just lost one game. With another three games to go they can definitely lay hands on the trophy,” – Azhar said.
