India Jersey Sponsor: BCCI Invites New Bids Ahead of Asia Cup 2025

The India Jersey Sponsor situation has taken center stage ahead of the Asia Cup 2025, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officially releasing an Invitation for Expression of Interest (IEOI) to find a new partner. This comes after Dream11, the previous sponsor, ended its association due to regulatory changes in India’s online gaming sector.

Dream11’s Exit Leaves a Sponsorship Gap

For the first time in several years, Team India will step onto the field without a lead jersey sponsor. Dream11’s exit followed the introduction of the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act 2025, which bans companies in the online gaming and betting industry from sponsoring national teams.

Over the decades, India’s jerseys have showcased iconic brands like Wills, Sahara, Star India, Oppo, and Byju’s. Now, the sudden gap has left fans wondering which company will step in as the next India Jersey Sponsor.

BCCI’s Strict Guidelines for New Sponsors

The BCCI issued its IEOI on September 2, 2025, giving interested firms until September 12 to purchase documents and until September 16 to submit bids. Companies must have a minimum annual turnover of ₹300 crore to qualify. Importantly, the BCCI has excluded firms from the real-money gaming and cryptocurrency sectors, aiming for long-term, regulation-compliant partners.

What This Means for Team India at Asia Cup 2025

With the bidding process still ongoing, Team India will likely debut at the Asia Cup in sponsorless jerseys—a rare sight in modern cricket. However, the BCCI is hopeful that by the end of September, a new brand will officially become the India Jersey Sponsor, not just for the Asia Cup but potentially for marquee events like the 2027 ODI World Cup.

Looking Ahead

As the sponsorship race heats up, the spotlight is on whether a reputed brand from sectors like technology, finance, or consumer goods will claim the prestigious space on Team India’s jersey. Fans are eagerly awaiting the reveal, as the India jersey remains one of the most visible assets in world cricket.
