Lucknow Franchise Likely To Sign Andy Flower As Head Coach

Andy Flower is likely to be the head coach of the Lucknow-based franchise for the upcoming IPL 2022.  We will now witness the mega IPL event featuring 10 teams and an increase in the number of league matches – Most importantly we will be witnessing the Mega auction for the IPL 2022 very soon and all the franchises have started their scouting and looking for the required talent to their sides.

Whereas the players’ identities of the teams have not yet been confirmed, Lucknow and Ahmedabad have been picked as the 2 new cities. In terms of the huge development, veteran Zimbabwe player Andy Flower will emerge as head coach for the Lucknow side. Flower was previously rumored to be contending for the role alongside former New Zealand skipper Daniel Vettori.

KL Rahul is likely to be hired by one of the two new franchises

As a result, the franchise would be delighted to have the experienced onboard. Furthermore, multiple media sources stated that KL Rahul is expected to be hired by one of the 2 additional franchises, with Lucknow winning the race to recruit him as skipper for the 2022 season. Interestingly, PBKS head coach Anil Kumble revealed that his team wanted to retain Rahul, but the 29-year-old denied it. It should be noticed that the 8 current franchises completed their list to retain players last month. They were permitted to keep a total of 4 players, with only 2 of them being overseas retentions.

In terms of the following 2 new teams, they may now select up to 3 players from excluding the retained players. KL Rahul, Rashid Khan, Shreyas Iyer, and Ben Stokes are among the front-runners for agreements with the new teams. As a result, these players may not be included in the bidding pool.
