Torrent Pharma, Aurobindo Pharma, Kotak Group, Sanjeev Kumar – RPSG, CVC Partners, Glazer Family – Manchester United Owners, Hindustan Times Media, Broadcast & Sport Consulting Agencies ITW, Naveen Jindal – Jindal Power & Steel, Group M, Adani Group, Singapore Based PE Firm and Ronnie Screwvala are among the groups picked to bid for the 2 additional teams.

Earlier, the BCCI picked 6 cities for the 2 additional teams in IPL 2022: Dharamshala, Ranchi, Guwahati, Lucknow, Cuttack, and Ahmedabad.

The BCCI added Pune Warriors India and Kochi Tuskers Kerala as part of the IPL expansion phase in 2010. Nonetheless, the 2 teams were banned for many reasons.

The Mumbai Indians are the most dominant team in the IPL, having won the league 5 times. Chennai Super Kings, led by MS Dhoni, are 2nd with 4 titles.
