The second season of the Lanka Premier League 2021 Schedule was formally announced on June 9 by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC). The event will take place from July 30th to 22nd August 2021.

Lanka premier league 2021 schedule:

LPL’s first season was a big success, with top international players like Andre Russell, Shoaib Malik, Kyle Abbott, and Dale Steyn participating. The finals drew 135 million views from all across the world.

There were some doubts about whether the first edition of the LPL could be held during the pandemic, but Sri Lanka Cricket went through and organized the event, which included five teams.

All of the matches were staged in a bio-secure environment at the MRICS in Hambantota, with just a few instances reported during the event. Since the COVID-19 problem is still present, preparations are being worked up to stage the event at a single location this year as well, as reported by Island Cricket.

This announcement comes as a breath of fresh air for Sri Lankan players, who have recently been at issues with the SLC over an increase in the yearly contract payout. The second edition of the LPL will provide opportunities for both top and edge players to excel and earn a place in the ICC T20 World Cup, which will be scheduled in October and November 2021  in India.

Sri Lanka is looking forward to its UK tour

The Jaffna Stallions won the first edition of the LPL by a margin of 53 runs against the Galle Gladiators. Thisara Perera, a former Sri Lankan allrounder, guided the Stallions to victory last year and is expected to do it again this year. The 32-year-old will be even more dangerous with his all-around ability – now that he is not under pressure to perform well in order to stay in the team.

In the meanwhile, Sri Lanka will go to England for a limited-overs series beginning June 23. The tour provides players with an excellent opportunity to shine and prove to the cricketing world that they are capable of competing with the best.
