Earlier in the year Indian men’s team achieved this feat by winning the T20 World Cup and now the Indian women’s team have the opportunity to repeat the same feat in the Women’s T20 World Cup. All ten teams will be divided into two groups (Group A & Group B), where the top two teams from each group will move towards the semifinals.

Australia’s women’s team has been a dominant force in this format, where they have won this competition six times in the nine editions played so far. While India, England, and West Indies have won it once.  

2024 Women’s T20 World Cup Format

The tournament features 10 teams divided into two groups of five, competing in a single round-robin format. Each team plays the others in their group once, with the top two from each group advancing to the semifinals. The first-place team from each group will face the second-place finisher from the opposite group in the semifinals. Winners of the semifinals will then move on to compete for the championship in the final, held in Dubai.
