Ravichandran Ashwin made his Test debut in 2011 against the West Indies and went on to play a total of 106 Tests, claiming 537 wickets, including 37 five-wicket hauls, while also scoring 3,503 runs. His limited-overs career began in 2010, featuring in 181 matches and taking 228 wickets.
In 116 ODIs, he picked up 156 wickets at an average of 33.20, with best figures of 4/25. He also scored 707 runs at 16.44, including a 65-run innings. These immense stats resulted in Ravichandran Ashwin being acquired by Chennai Super Kings for ₹9.75 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction.

Ashwin was signed by CSK to add immense experience and skill to the franchise. His strategic bowling, particularly on Chennai’s slow pitches, will be key to CSK’s game plan for the IPL 2025. Beyond his on-field contributions, Ashwin will also be able to mentor the younger players.
At 38, with 765 wickets in international cricket, he is now focused on leaving a lasting impact on the pitch, which he is going to add through IPL.
