According to a report from Cricbuzz, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has formally approached the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) with a proposal regarding travel arrangements for the Indian cricket team. This arrangement aims to address safety concerns related to the team staying in Pakistan for the duration of their tour. By allowing the team to return to Indian soil after matches, the PCB hopes to ensure a more secure environment for the players.
In response, a BCCI official denied the claims and said that they had not received any such proposal from PCB officials also stated that if they made such offers BCCI would reject it for sure, as reported by Dainik Jagran.
The ECB believes it can solve the ongoing issues with the Champions Trophy. They stress that having India participate is crucial for broadcast rights. ECB Chair Richard Thomson mentioned that there are several alternatives, but he is unsure the tournament could run smoothly without India, reported by Cricbuzz.
However, the Indian team’s travel to Pakistan hinges on the Government’s approval, as the Indian team has not traveled to Pakistan since Science 2008 due to Political tension between both nations, while Pakistan hosted Asia Cup 2023 where all India’s matches played in Sri Lanka in a hybrid model.
Similarly, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) reportedly requested to the International Cricket Council (ICC) that the ICC Champions Trophy should adopt a hybrid model to host all of India’s matches out from Pakistan and suggested UAE and Sri Lanka as a hosts. However, there is no official confirmation on this matter.
