The run-machine, who last played in the 50-over format for India in ODI World Cup 2023, can be seen playing his likeable format, in which he holds a fantastic record while playing versus Sri Lanka.

He won the player of the tournament for scoring most (765) runs at an average of 95.62, including three hundred in the Cricket World Cup last year. He took some breaks and played plenty of T20Is since then.  

Kohli, played a match-winning knock in the finals of the recent ICC T20 World Cup, which was played in June 2024, and with the kind of form he is in, and his stats against Sri Lanka, the upcoming series can be another high-scoring bonanza for him.

Series against Sri Lanka will provide Virat Kohli a great chance to break or get closer to the second highest run-scorer in one-day internationals. 

The ODI series will begin on August 2, followed by the second ODI on August 4, and the third one will be played on August 7. All the games will take place at the R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.
