Addressing the press conference alongside India’s new head coach Gautam Gambhir, chief selector Ajit Agarkar said, “He has not been dropped from ODIs, he is definitely in scheme of things. As there are so many tests ahead where he is going to feature in most of them, we gave him rest. Picking both Axar & Jadeja in this short ODI series was pointless”.

Team India’s tour to Sri Lanka will begin from July 27 and concludes on August 07. Both Asian giants will play 3 T20Is and 3 ODIs. Suryakumar Yadav has been named as the skipper of team India for the T20I series, while Rohit Sharma will continue to lead India in One-day internationals.
