Suryakumar Yadav to Play Under Captain Sarfraz Khan, In a recent turn of events, it is confirmed that Indian T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav is all set for the Buchi Babu Tournament under domestic star Sarfraz Khan. This marks the return of Suryakumar Yadav in red-ball cricket, where he will represent the Mumbai team. The Buchi Babu tournament is all set to kick start on 11th August, where the Mumbai team will play its first match on 14th August against Himachal Pradesh.
Talking with the Indian Express Indian T20I skipper stated that “I will be playing Buchi Babu tournament. It will give me good practice session before the domestic seasons starts. I will join the team after 25th. I’m always available to play for Mumbai and club team when ever free,”

It will be a good opportunity for both Surya and the tournament as it will be good practice for Surya, while the tournament gets the limelight due to Surya’s stardom. However, it will be interesting to see Suryakumar Yadav play under Sarfraz Khan considering his vast domestic experience.

The yearly tournament traditionally started in honor of Buchi Babu Naidu is a domestic starter tournament that takes place just before the start of Ranji Trophy season, where domestic teams test out their team strength in this prestigious domestic tournament. This tournament was first started back in 1909-10, where the tournament gained its popularity during the late 1960s. This tournament is managed by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association and they make sure that everything goes according to tradition.
