Wanindu Hasaranga’s 18th over caused friction in the South African side. Hasaranga initially eliminated Temba Bavuma before dismissing Dwaine Pretorius off the following delivery.
This brought Hasaranga’s hat trick to a conclusion. Dushmantha Chameera also took a handful of wickets for Sri Lanka. David Miller, on the other hand, retained his calm to assist South Africa cross the finish line.
Pathum Nissanka was the primary contributor to the SL team’s score of 142 in their allocated 20 overs. At the top of the lineup, the right-hander smashed 72 off 58 balls, and his innings included 6 fours and 3 sixes.
Charith Asalanka, in addition to Nissanka, achieved a 14-ball 21. All of Sri Lanka’s other batsmen made a pitiful show. Aside from Nissanka and Asalanka, no other Sri Lankan batsman scored more than 20 runs. Furthermore, eight Sri Lankan batters failed to reach double figures.
Tabraiz Shamsi and Dwaine Pretorius were standouts for the SA with the ball. Shamsi and Pretorius both took three wickets to put the Sri Lankans dominating.
